Ed Hall

Edward C. ‘Ed’ Hall, 93, of Elberton, GA, husband of Patricia ‘Pat’ Jones Hall, died Thursday, August 14, 2025, at his home. He was born in Elbert County, GA to the late John Speed and Elza Johnson Hall.

Ed lived a life dedicated to family, hard work, and kindness. A 1948 graduate of Elberton High School, Ed’s career began at the young age of 8, working with his father and brother on the family’s dairy farm. His dedication and strong work ethic shone throughout his life as later he and his brother, Harry, owned and operated H and H Enterprise, where he retired after 48 years.

Ed was not just a provider, he was the right-hand man of his family, a presence who could be counted on for anything they needed. His affection for his children was evident in the countless hours they spent together, making memories that will be treasured forever. One of his cherished hobbies included cutting wood with a chainsaw. He and his beloved wife, Pat, shared many joyful moments together, with trips to the mountains being among their favorite activities. Ed was a member of Bethlehem Global Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Speed Hall; daughter, Robbie Hall Lawton; brother, Harry G. Hall; two sisters, Louise Hill and Lois Brown; and granddaughter, Heather Lynn Hall.

Ed is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pat, of the home; four sons, Jody Hall, Eddy Hall (Lynn), Travis Hall (Carol), Rev. Durand Hall (Robin); daughter-in-law, Kathy Mabry Hall; son-in-law, Tommy Lawton; three step-children, Michael A. Brown, Robert ‘Bobby’ Eugene Brown (Melody) and Brenda Lee Loveland (Cleve); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends 5:00PM – 7:00PM, Friday, August 15, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home, 302 N. Main Street, Abbeville, SC.
