Dr. David Edward Holden

Dr. David Edward Holden, PsyD, NCC, 75, of the Savannah Lakes Village, McCormick, SC, husband of Diane Eubank Holden, died Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC. He was born in Windber, PA to the late Evander and Marjorie Gladis Holden.
Dr. Holden served in the Navy, Army and National Guard retiring from his military career after 36 years of service. In 1987, he began his educational journey obtaining his Associate in Science degree in General Studies from Vincennes University. In 1992, Dr. Holden received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Lebanon Valley College. In May 1997, he earned his Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Kutztown University. Continuing his education, Dr. Holden attained his Master of Science in Clinical Psychology in 2006 and in 2009, his Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was employed as a Reading Specialist in Family and Children’s Problems as a Senior Clinical associate.
After retirement, he and his wife relocated to the Savannah Lakes Village in McCormick, SC. Dr. Holden was an enthusiastic golfer and served as a member of the Golf Committee. He found a place of service in his association with the McCormick Lion’s Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David E. Holden, Jr.
Dr. Holden is survived by his wife, Diane; two sons, Cody Holden (Katie) of Pine Grove, PA, Cade E. Holden (Mallery) of Hegins, PA; two daughters, Caitlin A. Holden of Hegins, PA and Kristine Brazzle (Larry) of Appling, GA; brother, John Holden (Marie) of Windber, PA; four sisters, Susan Rich (David) for Fort Worth, TX, Christine Steigerwald (Bob), Sharyn Crawford (Bob) all of Gilbert, AZ and Mary Beth ‘Betsy’ Holden of Mesa, AZ; ten grandchildren, Eli, Zeke, Zane, Noah, Maddex, Maleigh, Caleb, Mattie, Kendra and Daniel.
A service to celebrate Dr. Holden’s life will be 11:00AM, Saturday, January 15, 2022, in the Lutheran Church by the Lake, 100 12 Oaks Drive, McCormick, SC 29835 with Rev. Jim Kinsler officiating.
