Debbie Stamps Johnson

Debbie Stamps Johnson, 50, of 1216 C Highway 34 died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at her home.

Born in Abbeville County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Louise Leamon Stamps. She was a retired textile employee with Abbeville Shirt Plant. She was also of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are widower, John L. "Johnny" Johnson of the home; daughter, Carla S. Ashley of Ware Shoals; son, Adam Purser of New York City; brother, Johnny Stamps of Abbeville; sister, Becky Loftis of Abbeville; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Stamps and Sandy Collins.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home by Mr. Bobby Ray Fisher; burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Abbeville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Johnson, 869 Old Abbeville Highway, Abbeville.
