Cynthia Ann 'Cindy' Stone, 72, of Abbeville, beloved wife of Kenny Stone, passed away on January 2, 2025, at Lakelands Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wesby and Lee Wideman Burton.
Cindy was a proud graduate of Calhoun Falls High School, class of 1972, and took great pride in being a Blue Flash. For eighteen years, she dedicated herself as the owner and operator of the Abbeville Subway, where she served her customers with unwavering commitment. In her leisure, Cindy cherished spending time with her family, watching movies, and engaging in her work. She was also a member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother, Ronnie Burton, and sisters, Ouida Shiflet and Juanita Elliott.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Kenny Stone; her two sons, Brad Stone (Kristin) and Jesse Stone, both of Abbeville; her sister, Camilla Haggerty of Easley a special niece, Jennifer Moon of Elberton, GA, along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Dr. Frank McCoy. Burial will follow at Long Cane Cemetery.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Lakelands Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care, support, and love provided to Cindy during her time there.
