Cornelia Gibson Crenshaw, 87, resident of Wesley Commons Healthcare passed away Wednesday March 3, 2010 at Wesley Commons in Greenwood, SC.
Born in Pickens Co. SC she was a daughter of the late Clifton Gibson and Claudia Gordon Gibson. She was the widow of Thomas Newton Crenshaw.
She was retired as a bookkeeping account with Abbeville School District # 60 with 40 years of service. She was a member of the Empire Chapter # 251 Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of Harris Baptist Church were she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class and formerly attended Lebanon Presbyterian Church. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.
Survivors include 1 son James Ovid Crenshaw of Abbeville, SC; 2 daughters Jean Kyzer and her husband Fred of Surfside Beach, SC and Susan McManus and her husband Kent of Greenwood, SC; 2 brothers James Gibson of Pendleton, SC and Joe Gibson of Clemson, SC; 6 grandchildren Christopher Meeks and his wife Julie, Craig Meeks and his wife Alison, Jason Meeks and his wife Angel, Katie Beth McManus, Robert Thomas McManus and Claudia Grace McManus; and 5 great-grandchildren Drew, Mikayla, Haston, Belle and Ella Meeks.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday March 5, 2010 at 3:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Smythe officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family is at the homes of her daughter Mr. & Mrs. Kent McManus 335 Plantation Court in Creekside Greenwood, SC and her son Ovid Crenshaw 11 Island Ford Rd. Abbeville, SC.
The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 PM Friday afternoon prior to services.
Memorials in memory of Mrs. Crenshaw may be made to a charity of one's choice.
