Connie Robinson

Connie Dorn McAbee Robinson, 92, of McCormick, SC, wife of the late Foster Sondley Robinson, Jr., died Monday, December 22, 2025, at her home. She was born in McCormick, SC to the late Thomas Russell McAbee, Jr. and Virginia Cornelia Dorn McAbee.

A graduate of McCormick High School, Connie attended Furman University in Greenville, SC. She later earned her law degree from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, GA; however, Connie's true calling was found in her role as a devoted homemaker, where she created a nurturing environment filled with love and warmth for her family and friends. She was a dedicated member of the McCormick Methodist Church, serving on several committees and demonstrating what it meant to be a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior. In addition to her faith, she was an enthusiastic reader who found joy in the written word and was an avid Clemson Tiger fan. Her love for writing and poetry allowed her to express her thoughts creatively. Connie’s memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Foster Sondley Robinson, III; two brothers, Jennings McAbee and Tommy McAbee; and three nephews, Thomas Russell McAbee, III, J. G. McAbee and Martin Townes McAbee, that she valued as she did her own children.

Connie is survived by two daughters, Dora Robinson Hine (David) and Vicie Robinson, all of Greenwood, SC; three grandchildren, Cartha Smith, Connie Lanier (Hunter) and Hope Jones; two great-grandchildren, Grant and Maddie Grace; her devoted nephew, Charles McAbee; and two sisters-in-law, Claire McAbee of McCormick, SC and Patti McAbee of Greenville, SC.

The family will receive friends 1:00PM – 2:00PM, Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at McCormick Methodist Church, 200 E. Gold Street, McCormick, SC 29835. A service to celebrate Connie’s life will begin at 2:30PM on Tuesday in the church sanctuary. A private burial will follow in the McCormick City Cemetery.
