Charles R. 'Boo' Marion Sr.

Charles R. ‘Boo’ Marion, Sr., 96, of the Antreville Community, husband of the late Betty Ellis Marion, died Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. He was born in Atlanta, GA to the late John Wyeth Marion and Mellou Martin Marion.

Mr. Marion attended O’Keefe High School in Atlanta, GA and graduated from Antreville High School, Class of 1941. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Marion retired from Pirelli Cable (former General Cable) in 1985. He was a boy scout master in Antreville for several years and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Marion was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Martin and Roy Marion.

He is survived by two sons, Charles ‘Chuck’ Marion, Jr. (Nancy) of Antreville, Stanley E. Marion (Diane) of Rock Hill; a daughter, Phyllis Marion Deter of Townville and two grandchildren, Michael Marion and Natalie Marion.

Graveside services, with military honors, will be 2:00PM, Tuesday, May 31, 2022, in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Donovan Campbell and Rev. Tommy Alewine officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
