Boyce H. Carlisle

Boyce H. Carlisle, 88, of Calhoun Falls, SC, husband of Connie Monroe Carlisle, died Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC.  He was born in Calhoun Falls, SC to the late Harold L. Carlisle, Sr. and Mattie Lee Parnell Carlisle.

Mr. Carlisle graduated from Calhoun Falls High School in 1953.  He honorably served his country in the United States Army.  A beloved small business entrepreneur, he was a man of many talents and passions which included serving as a former Calhoun Falls town councilman and owner of Carlisle Shell, which was a popular gathering spot for locals.  The founding of BHC Trucking in 1994 was his proudest accomplishment.  Retiring after many years, his legacy lives on through his family.

Mr. Carlisle found joy in woodworking, history, and working with Oliver tractors.  As a proud Clemson Tiger fan, he faithfully supported IPTAY for 48 years.   His hobbies and interests reflected his quiet, gentle and humble spirit.  However, nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with family.  His love for them knew no bounds and he created countless cherished memories that will be treasured for years to come.  Mr. Carlisle was of the Methodist faith and attended Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Ray Carlisle, a sister, Dorothy Carlisle and two brothers, Gene Carlisle and Lander Carlisle. 

Mr. Carlisle is survived by his wife of 66 years, Connie, of Wesley Commons; daughter, Linda C. Purdy and her husband, Boyd, of Hodges, SC; brother, John Robert Carlisle of Lyman, SC; two grandchildren, Amber Wilson and her husband, Rev. Jason Wilson, and Andrea Hobson and her husband, Patrick Hobson; and four great-grandchildren, Steven and his wife, Erica, Brady, Carlisle and Ellison.

The family will receive friends 10:00AM – 11:00AM, Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Providence Presbyterian Church in Lowndesville, SC.  Funeral services will begin at 11:30AM in the church sanctuary with Rev. Jason Wilson officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Smyrna Cemetery.  Those serving as pallbearers will be Steven Wilson, Brady Wilson, Rev. Jason Wilson, Patrick Hobson and Don White.
