Bobby Ray Garner

Bobby Ray Garner, 70, of Calhoun Falls, husband of Debra Shirley Garner, died Monday, May 11, 2026, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC. He was born in Union, SC to the late Robert Henry and Laura Mae Miller Garner.

A 1974 graduate of Lockhart High School, Bobby dedicated many years to a career in the textile industry. Beyond his career, Bobby was a man of various interests and hobbies. He was an enthusiastic golfer, enjoyed the tranquility of fishing, and found great joy in horseback riding. A devoted supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks, he loved following the team and sharing in the excitement of each game. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Bobby was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eric Garner and two brothers, Sam and Willie Garner.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debra of the home; son, Gene (Debbie) Garner of Donalds; and three grandchildren, Zach, Emily and Kolsen Garner.

We would love for you to join us for a celebration of life in memory of Bobby at a BBQ at the home of Gene and Debbie Garner, 169 Nickles Street, Donalds, SC 29638 on Saturday, May 16, 2026, beginning at 4:00 PM. Food will be provided, but please bring your stories of Bobby so we can share in your memories of him.
