June Trautwein

June Trautwein, 72, of Abbeville, died Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Hospice House in Greenwood.  She was born in Benham, Ky to the late Roland Lee Hash and Carolyn Ann Minton Hash.

During her early years, June pursued a career as a welder.  Her talents extended far beyond welding as she effortlessly embraced various roles throughout her life.  June cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren touching the lives of those around her with her warmth, kindness and love for life.

She was a woman of many talents and passions.  One of her exceptional talents was creating the best homemade canned dill pickles.  Friends and family would eagerly await each batch of these mouthwatering delights.   June also had an undeniable passion for flowers.  Her green thumb brought forth beautiful blossoms that adorned her home.  Another enjoyment June had was fishing.  The thrill of reeling in a catch added to the joy that fishing brought her and she passionately cheered on the Georgia Bulldog football team.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her sister, Rhonda Hash Bryant and a half-brother, Garland Vaughn.

She is survived by her children, Kimberly Mills (William) of Kentucky, Joe King of Kentucky, Kristi McConnell (Mike) of Abbeville; twin sister, Betty Jean King; half-sisters, Earlene Reed, Darlene Byington and Justine Berry; half-brother, Marion Vaughn; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will have a celebration of June’s life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in memory of June be sent to Providence Presbyterian Church, PO Box 226, Lowndesville, SC 29659.
