Betty Joyce Priest

Betty Joyce Priest (nee Chesser) of Greenwood, SC, age 88, beloved wife of the late Carl Priest, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025. Betty and Carl married on June 26, 1955. Together they raised 6 children: Stephen, Robert, Leann, Lori, Michael and Michelle. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

Betty was born in Coolidge, AZ to parents Robert H. Chesser and Elva Bell Chesser (nee Dunlap) on August 4, 1936. She graduated high school in Port Hueneme, CA. Before she was a homemaker, Betty worked at Wrangler in Okemah, Oklahoma. She was a talented seamstress.

Betty loved to collect dolls. She had an impressive doll collection that she took much pride in. Betty would put a new dress on an old doll and give it to a child without. She also loved to spend time with her dogs.

Even though she is no longer on Earth and is in Heaven, may her grandchildren, their grandchildren and friends, still enjoy her spirit and start the day with a joyful and silly “Good Morning, to you!”
