Betty Campbell McClain

Betty Campbell McClain, 85, of Abbeville, SC, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at Emerald Gardens Assisted Living in Greenwood, SC. She was the beloved wife of the late William 'Roy' McClain and was born in Abbeville County to the late John Robert Campbell, Sr. and Rosella Loftis Campbell.

A proud graduate of Dixie High School, Class of 1958, Mrs. McClain was a dedicated member of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church, where she actively participated in Circle 2. She cherished moments spent with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, John Clinkscales, as well as her two brothers, Alvin Campbell and John Robert 'Junior' Campbell, Jr.

Betty is survived by her loving children, Jerry McClain and his wife Vicky, and Sherry McClain Clinkscales, all of Abbeville. She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Jay Clinkscales and his wife Becky, Samuel McClain and his wife Kayla, Jordan Clinkscales, and Daniel McClain and his wife Molly. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her four great-grandchildren, Khloe, Eli, Jaxon, and Nora.

The family invites friends to gather on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Little Mountain Presbyterian Church, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, officiated by Rev. John Leheup. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the nurturing love and support provided to Betty by the staff and doctors at Emerald Gardens Assisted Living during her time there.

Memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Betty C. McClain, may be made to Little Mountain Presbyterian Church, located at 3836 Hwy 28 N., Abbeville, SC 29620.
