Barbara June Reese

Barbara June Reese of Abbeville, SC, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, at the age of 85. Mrs. Reese was a 1960 graduate of South High School in Columbus, Ohio, and moved to Abbeville in 1974. She was the daughter of the late Leo Wells and Ruth Smith Wells.

Barbara found great joy in creating a warm and welcoming home. She devoted countless hours to gardening and caring for the home and beautiful grounds that she and her husband built together in Abbeville. She treasured the many lunches and lasting friendships she shared over the years with a special group of girlfriends. Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, and genuine friendliness toward everyone she met. She had a lifelong love of animals, especially her beloved cats and the many pets that brought her happiness throughout the years. Above all, Barbara had a remarkable ability to see the goodness in people, and her compassionate heart touched the lives of all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Wells.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 65 years, William C. Reese, her child Scott Reese, and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Reese.

A small memorial service will be held at the family home at a later date.
