Anna Taylor Hauver

Anna Taylor Hauver, 94, of McCormick, SC., wife of the late Walworth D. Hauver, died Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC. She was born in Cranston, RI, to the late Benjamin and Jennie Berggren Taylor on August 23, 1931, about a month shy of her 95th birthday.

On December 8, 1951, Anna married Walworth D. Hauver in Rhode Island. Together, they moved to Connecticut and settled in Southington, where they made their home for 55 years. After more than half a century in Southington, Anna and Walworth relocated to Milton, Vermont, to be closer to their daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Following the passing of her husband, affectionately known as ‘Wally’, Anna spent her winters in North Carolina with her son and enjoyed summers in Vermont with her daughter. In 2025, Anna relocated to South Carolina with her daughter and son-in-law.

Anna served as the office manager at the Southington Chamber of Commerce for 27 years. After retiring, she and her husband enjoyed winters in Sarasota, Florida, for 17 wonderful years.

In addition, to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie Mucha and her husband, Edwin, and son-in-law, Philip Carmichael.

Anna is survived by her son, Keith Hauver of Fayetteville, NC; her daughter, Janet and her husband, Daniel Gilbert of McCormick, SC; five grandchildren, Jason (Erin) Carmichael, Joseph (Kelly) Carmichael, Joshua Carmichael, Justin (Kimberly) Hauver and David Hauver (fiancé, Tessa); four great-grandchildren, Maryanne and Danielle Hauver and Ella and Hayden Carmichael; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services, Friday, July 24, 2026, at 9:00AM in the chapel at Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 487 Furnace Road, Randolph Center, Vermont with Pastor Marcus officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in memory of Anna, may be sent to the Hospice House of Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave. Greenwood, SC 29646 or Lutheran Church by the Lake, Attn: Prime Timers, 100 Twelve Oaks Drive, McCormick, SC 29835.
