Anna May Dela Merced, of the Lake Secession Community, died Saturday, August 25, 2023. She was born in Manila, Philippines to Emerita Mata and the late Fidel Verzosa Dela Merced.
A graduate of Newtown High School in Elmhurst, NY, she continued her education with a BA at George Washington University and DeVry University, and an AAS degree at Queensborough Community College. An educated lady who was fluent in the French language, Anna May worked as a Senior Clinical Research Associate II for Fortrea, a subsidiary of Labcorp. She was an active member of The Ladies of Lake Secession, a bible study group of the Lake Secession Community, and was a member of the National MS Society. Anna May will be remembered as very considerate, sweet, ambitious and protective, a fighter who is not afraid to let others know whats on her mind, and an authentic woman who will always be viewed as strong by those who were blessed to know her.
Anna May is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Dela Merced of Austin, TX; two sons, Mark Christopher Sinz of Geneva, Switzerland and Gregory Jacob Sinz of Geneva, Switzerland; two sisters, Victoria Smith of East Islip, NY and Bing Dela Merced of PA; three brothers, Ernesto Dela Merced of Naples, FL, Fidel Dela Merced and Noel Dela Merced of New Jersey; granddaughter, Manilyn Emerita Elisabeth Sinz of Geneva, Switzerland.
