James Franklin ‘Jim’ Uldrick, 78, of Abbeville, husband of Gail Wells Uldrick, died Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. He was born in Abbeville to the late Harold Emory Uldrick and Elsie Stamps Uldrick.
A member of Northside Baptist Church in Greenwood, he was a man of strong faith. Jim served as an elder, Sunday School teacher and sang in the church choir. He instilled spiritual character in his family and leaves an honorable legacy to them and to everyone who knew him.
The owner of Uldrick Builders of Abbeville, Jim was a well-known, respected residential building contractor and electrician. He was a true craftsman proficient in older home restoration and the construction of log cabins.
Jim is survived by his wife, Gail Wells Uldrick, of 60 years of the home; four sons, Ken Uldrick (Debbie) of Greenwood, Roger Uldrick (Karen) of St. Matthews, Mark Uldrick (Denise) of Simpsonville, and Heath Uldrick (Donna) of Abbeville; a brother, Owen Uldrick (Wilma) of Abbeville; an aunt, Margaret Stamps of Anderson; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 1:00PM – 2:30PM, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville. Funeral Services will begin at 3:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Chris Guire and Dr. Chris Ceraldi officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to Abbeville Home Health nurse, Gena Cameron, and to Caring Hands associate, Kristy Bobo, for their loving care and support given to Jim.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions, in memory of Jim, be sent to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Miami, FL 33131 or to the Crohn’s Foundation, National Processing Center, PO Box 1245, Albert Lea, MN 56007-0076.
