Frances Elizabeth Gailey, 58, wife of the late Billy Joe Hammonds, of Donalds, SC, died Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Self Regional Healthcare. She was born in Greenville to the late Douglas Wayman Gailey and Ruth Collins Gailey.
After attending Greenville High School, Frances was employed with JP Stevens as a weaver. She had a versatile personality; Frances enjoyed watching The Food Network, however, she did not enjoy cooking. NASCAR often held her complete attention, watching the races was a favorite pastime. Her fondness for M&M candy was evident; Frances once purchased a bag which contained all orange-colored candies and an enclosure designating her as the winner of a grand prize. She was of the Baptist faith.
Frances is survived by her siblings, Deborah Robbins, of Donalds, Steve Gailey (Kerri) of Anderson, Kathie Smith (Sam) of Donalds and Pat Dyar (Mike) of Anderson; nieces and nephews, Jason Robbins (Kristen), Tyler Gailey (Alexandria), Corrie Mansfield (Eric), Jennifer Gailey, Conner Ferguson (Lauren), Marlee Ferguson and Meredith Gailey; great-nieces and nephews, Kayde Mansfield, River and Willow Robbins and due in May, Bowen Gailey; and a special granddaughter, Sheena Crawford (Andrew).
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials, in memory of Frances, are sent to The LOT Project, P.O. Box 4181, Anderson, SC 29622. The organization provides food and clothing for the homeless community as a way of sharing Jesus’ love.
